F.A.Q.

FDDay is one of the most exclusive startup event in Europe. It is primarily designed for C-Level startup executives and VCs. The 2019 edition was capped at 3000 attendees. It was completely sold-out two weeks before, drawing 40 nationalities, 400 VCs and 20 unicorn founders. In 2020, #FDDay will be designed for a smaller, high-level, VVIP audience.

A UK journalist once presented FDDay as the « family reunion of the European startup ecosystem ». In February 2019, French magazine Challenges named it “the place to be” for the “European Digital Gotha”. In 2020, French media dubbed it “the startup version of Davos”. This is quite accurate.

France Digitale is the largest startup organization in Europe, with 1400 Startup members and 100+ VC.

For FDDay itself, doors open on September 15th at 1pm and close on September 16th at 1am. FDDay includes: - a 1to1 meeting track for startups founders looking for VCs (mostly C, D, E and late-stage rounds) - inspirational talks on three simultaneous stages - a press room for press conferences and 1to1 media interviews

FDDAY is a « no intern/no consultant/no bullshit zone ». We consider the event as a family reunion of the European startup ecosystem, with 2,500 C-Level startup executives. Over the past five years, we have welcome renowned speakers, such as Pieter Van Der Does (Adyen), Chris Barton (Shazam), Theo Vassilakis (Grab), Michael Pryor (Trello), Azmat Yusuf (CityMapper), Morten Primdahl (Zendesk) or David Buttress (JustEat).

They have an expert view of the topic and they are looking for inspirational ideas.

France Digitale is fully committed to ensuring the health safety of the event with preventive actions and social distancing. To guarantee the safety of all, organisers have chosen to cap the number of attendees to 1,000 and will provide masks and hydralcoholic gel.

Covid-19 - Safety precautions 😷

In order to protect attendees from coronavirus during the FDDAY 2020, the set-up has been adjusted based on expected attendance and flows. France Digitale works with several healthcare and technological equipment providers to ensure everyone’s safety. The health protocol will cover three dimensions:

Health safety for attendees

  • Limit to 1000 people at the same time during the event. Our technological partner, who will help us know in real time the number of attendees in each zone of the Musée des Arts Forains, will soon be announced
  • Mandatory use of masks within the Musée
  • Reduction of stage capacity by half (one seat out of two)
  • One indoor stage moved outside
  • A cabin for clothes disinfection / temperature taking / distribution of hydro-alcoholic gel placed at the entrance of the Musée
  • A dedicated entrance and exit for each zone
  • No self-service buffets and beverages will be provided, catering will be offered individually in an environment friendly packaging
  • Non-contact hydro-alcoholic gel dispensing stations will be provided throughout the Musée and at key contact points ( entrance, cloakroom, toilets, etc.)
  • A digital version of the program and map will be available on the FD app. Screens will also display the event map and the program of each stage in real time
  • Signposts dedicated specifically to the measures to be applied in accordance with the Government’s directives are to be set up

Health safety for staff

  • Definition of health safety guidelines to be respected during the set-up assembly, running and disassembly of the event.

Health safety for speakers

  • Individual and single-use microphone protection
  • Distribution of individual reusable drinking bottles
  • Set-up of stages in compliance with social distancing requirements

What we are expecting from attendees:

  • We invite people with symptoms of fever, cough and headache not to attend (they will be denied access to the event). We will refund participants who have purchased their ticket but were not able to attend for medical reasons.
  • Please come with your own mask and reusable bottle of water
  • Please always use your own equipment (hydro-alcoholic gel, computer, pen, sheet, etc…).

We will release our complete health protocol by the end of August 2020 to enable all participants to prepare for their visit in complete safety. If your company offers products or services that could further improve this protocol, we invite you to contact our event team as soon as possible. If you have any questions about this health protocol, please contact us.
