The pledge of the European tech ecosystem for a modernisation of public procurement rules as a response to IRA

The European Commission has recently announced the adaptation of State aid rules and the implementation of new financial instruments to face the anti-competitive effects of the US Inflation Reduction Act for European businesses.

In the perspective of the European Council at the end of the week (9-10 February), European SMEs and startups consider that these measures will be insufficient if they are not accompanied by a serious review of procurement rules capable of creating an actual level-playing field in the Union to support the twin green and digital transitions. In their paper, associations give concrete ways on how to achieve this.
